Creps
2 AFRICA
Where did the idea come from? My mum always tells me she’s sending off my old shoes & clothes to family in DR Congo, but I never used to think anything of it. One day I started thinking that there’s actually so many less fortunate children that can benefit from owning a pair.
That’s where I came up with the name, Creps2Africa. I made the Creps2Africa poster so people could donate their old shoes to my uni accommodation which was tough at first because I didn’t receive many shoes.
I came up with a solution & realised it would be much easier if I just collected shoes in person. Me & friend spent the whole day driving around East London collecting shoes. God willingly, we ended up collecting 86 pairs of shoes. Way more than I expected & I’m forever grateful for it.The next mission was sending all the shoes across the world to an orphanage in Africa.
4 weeks later, with help from family members, the shoes were delivered to an orphanage in DR Congo. As you can see in the videos, the children looked so happy to receive the shoes. God bless all the children & I wish them all the best in life. I couldn’t even imagine the pain these children have been through.
